Lazy day in Tokyo

The weather forecast predicts 100% chance of rain for the next 3 days. It was certainly right for today, as it pretty much poured all day today. It was the kind of day where you don't feel much like going out and walking around, so I didn't.

I got up, made two one-hour-long long distance phone calls (sorry T, I owe you dinner for those!), and watched the pirated DVD box set of Season 4 of Six Feet Under that I had bought in KL. I didn't leave the house until nearly 7 p.m., when I met T at Ebisu Station after work and we went for conveyor belt sushi in Shibuya. After dinner we did crazy photo booth pictures, and browsed at Tower Records. I'm going to buy the new Thom Yorke album as well as the latest Radiohead tribute album tomorrow. I did, however, pick up a copy of "Charisma Man" which is probably one of the funniest things I have read in a long time. (If you are familiar with the term rice king, then you'll probably find Charisma Man hilarious as well.)

I got to talk to my two best friends Nat and Cath, watch a lot of awesome TV, listen to some great new music, and indulge in a bit of oh-my-God-it's-so-true cultural stereotyping...all in all, a great day!

Tomorrow I hope to get my butt in gear and actually see some of this huge, crazy city, then it's off to Coldplay in the evening.

Hope you all are having a great day out there in the rest of the world, wherever you may be.

  3. I don't need to be annonymous, but I thought I would try it out (besides, Millie really does value her privacy and I don't think she appreciates me posting things under her user name). What could be better that a rainy day in Tokyo watching pirated DVD's. It sounds perfect!

Can't wait until you get back!

  4. Hi Isha,

Sounds like a lot of fun, sorry I haven't been able to keep more up to date on your blog, but now that I'm at work again, I should have lots of time for it :)

Loved the pictures of food and the pic of you in the peranakan dress is "dead sexy"!
